When A virus attacks a computer its primary function is to destroy or restrict the Defense System of the Computer. In that process the virus first disables the hide function so that it can prepare its attack without your knowledge, but if you have a good anti virus you can delete the virus before it can do any damage but sometimes before anti virus detects the virus the virus did disable the hide function. Even after you delete the Virus or Trojan there effects cant be re versed automatically you have to do it manually. So here is the tutorial to enable the hide option.
Primarily you can enable the hide option by going to
tools>folder options> view> show hidden files

Now In the registry go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Explorer
>Advanced>Folder>Hidden>SHOWALL
Now Inside show all Select "Checked Value REG_DWORD" And right click and Select modify
